Product certification

CERTIFICATION PROCEDURE

CERTIF is a certification body prepared to offer to the market a wide range of product certification in several areas, like construction, energy, electrical, food, sport and leisure products.

The certification is granted in accordance with the methodologies specified in the scheme no. 5 of ISO / IEC 17067, which includes the carrying out of type testing on a sample of the product to be certify and audits / inspections to the manufacturer’s quality system, followed by periodic surveillance through audits / inspections and tests on samples selected from the manufacturing site or from the market.

The license for the use of the Mark is the responsibility of CERTIF, after fulfilling the stages in the following flowchart:

To start the certification process the applicant, or its representative, shall send to CERTIF the application form and shall be accompanied of the set of documentation mentioned there.
The stages to be followed for issue and granting the licence for the use of the Mark are as follows:

  • tests to samples of the product;
  • audit / inspection.

The decision to certify is taken by the Decision Commission, on the basis of the tests and audit / inspection results review. If the decision is in favor will be issued the certificate and signed with the applicant a certification agreement.

The certificate is issued if the decision is positive. Certificates issued for products certification are valid for a period of 5 (five) years.

SURVEILLANCE ACTIVITIES

Products for which the authorization for use the Mark has been granted shall be subject to surveillance actions, to evaluate whether the initial conditions that led to its certification remain the same.

These surveillance actions include the performance of audits/inspections, collecting of samples from the manufacturing site and/or from the market and tests to the product. The frequency and the methodology to follow are changeable and depend on certification scheme.

The decision to maintain (or not) certification is taken by the Decision Commission of CERTIF, on the basis of the review the tests and audit / inspection surveillance results.
